Perhaps the most coveted recognition Dr Niaz Chowdhury received as a researcher came during the COVID-19 pandemic when, as a key member of a research team from the OU, they proposed the world's first digital vaccination certification system. They were invited from MIT to present the work, and received significant media attention in the UK and globally during that time.
Following his postdoc career, Dr Niaz Chowdhury became a scientist and won a prestigious UK Government InnovateUK grant to successfully lead an 18-month project as the Principal Investigator and AI Lead.
By this time, Dr Niaz Chowdhury became a known face in the deep teach research community working with Blockchain, Web3 and AI. His first book, Inside Blockchain, Bitcoin, and Cryptocurrencies, was published by Taylor & Francis, one of the world's big five publishers, in 2019 and is currently available at renowned university libraries, including MIT and Princeton and parliament and public libraries like Australian Parlament, Toronto Public Library etc. He went on publishing two books and is currently working on two more.
Back in 2020, Dr Niaz Chowdhury realised his expertise and services could benefit people outside the border of Europe if he established independent institutions to work on research and education. He initially co-founded London Tech Lab and later the London School of Leadership, Investment and Technology (LSLIT). Both companies are incorporated in England, United Kingdom.
Dr Niaz Chowdhury has a dual role as a scientist and an educator. In his scientific capacity, he actively seeks funding opportunities through programs like the EU's Horizon Europe project, as well as various grants in the UK, Middle East, and Bangladesh. As an educator, he mentors and takes courses on deep tech, leadership, and career development for lifelong learners and executives from his institution. He also serves as a consultant and lecturer for other institutions. His expertise in creating courses and designing curricula has led to requests for his services from other organisations. Recently, he contributed to the development of a Mini-MBA program for Roster, a UK-based Web3 education provider, where he designed and lectured on the curriculum for the Blockchain Fundamentals module.
